The Checkbox Widget lets customers easily opt in for shipping protection during checkout. This is a great way to increase opt-in rates and offer peace of mind right before customers place their orders.
⚠️ Important:
This feature is only available for Shopify Plus stores due to Shopify's restrictions on modifying the Checkout Page.
Steps to Set Up the Checkbox Widget:
1. Ensure You Are on a Shopify Plus Plan
This feature is supported only for Shopify Plus merchants. Ensure your store has Shopify Plus enabled.
2. Open Your Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes
In your Shopify dashboard, go to Online Store and then select Themes.
Click the Customize button for your live theme.
3. Navigate to the Checkout Layout
Using the page selector dropdown in the theme editor, go to:
Home page → Checkout and customer accounts → Checkout
4. Add the App Block for Shipping Protection
→ On the left sidebar, click Add Block in the Checkout section.
→ A list of available app blocks will appear.
→ Select the Shipping Protection app block to add it to your checkout page.
5. Arrange and Save the Widget
→ Drag and position the block where you want it to appear.
→ Click Save to apply your changes.
6. Preview the Checkout Flow
Make a test order to ensure the checkbox widget appears properly during checkout.
Tips:
You can customize the widget’s text, appearance, and behavior from the app’s Customize settings.
Add helpful tooltips like: “Protect your order from damage, loss, or theft for just #mplan_price#.” to improve clarity.
